Luigi's Mansion

Mirrors are an object in Luigi's Mansion and its Nintendo 3DS version.

Description[]

Mirrors appear no different than regular ones. However, if Luigi examines a mirror using his Game Boy Horror, its reflection begins to rotate, light-blue markings are shown from the Game Boy Horror display, then Luigi starts to spin, and is warped back to the Foyer. These mirrors can be used as shortcuts or escape routes when necessary instead of walking through the entire mansion.

Every mirror in the mansion functions the same, except the room-length mirror in the Mirror Room, as there is a puzzle where Luigi has to use the Fire Element Medal to light the candles to unblock the door. There are some other rooms with a mirror, such as the Billiards Room, which has a mirror nearly the size of the Mirror Room's, and the Safari Room, where using the mirror is especially during the blackout, as it can allow Luigi to skip several ghost encounters. The first room to actually have a mirror is the Foyer, but examining its reflection only warps Luigi back to the same place. Both the Wardrobe Room, Master Bedroom, and Storage Room also have a mirror. In the Storage Room's case,

The Sealed Room is the only room where using the mirror is required, because the door is boarded up and Luigi cannot climb up the chimney, which is the only way to enter the Sealed Room. As such, Luigi has to use the mirror to escape the room. Despite this necessity, the game provides no hints about the hidden purpose of the mirrors.
