"Real friends stick around!"
—Midnite chastises Edge for ruining their friendship.[1]

Midnite is one of the secondary antagonists from Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope (alongside Bedrock and Daphne). This Rabbid makes her lair in the Winter Palace within Pristine Peaks, where she imprisons a Rabbid version of Rosalina that joins the party to help them fight Midnite just prior to the battle. Midnite also apparently used to be friends with Edge, who left her. (Midnite puts it as "ghosted.") When she is defeated, Midnite will surrender a Darkmess crystal to the party.

According to her biography, Midnite is not really a ghost, but her genetic code was merged with mist, hence her phantasmal appearance.

Profile[]

Physical description[]

Midnite has a Rabbid's upper body combined with a ghostly tail. Her outfit consists of a strapless frilly dress. One of her hands has a paper Japanese fan.

In Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope[]

Battle[]

Midnite is fought in three phases. Throughout these three phases, she moves by teleporting from place to place (thus ignoring "Line-of-sight" moves while she moves provided she wasn't shoved into them) and snipes at enemies from a distance, à la the Peek-a-boo Rabbid from Kingdom Battle. For every 1/3 HP she loses, Midnite switches the positions of the library shelves, making the battlefield trickier to navigate. Bombs are found in all three phases of the battle. Thwomp-carrying Rabbids that can flatten the heroes are found during the first and third phases of the battle; in the second phase, their place is stolen by Lone Wolf Rabbids, and in the third, both Rabbid variations appear. Midnite doesn't summon new enemies to replace those that were defeated.

Etymology[]

Midnite derives her name from "midnight."

Translations[]

In Spanish, Midnite is called "Medianocta," which comes from Spanish Medianoche, which is a literal translation of "midnight." Her Portuguese name is "Madruguita," derived from Madrugada, which means "Dawn." Her French name is just the French term for "midnight," Minuit.

Trivia[]

  • Midnite is the only Spark Hunter that doesn't have legs. She is also the only one who has the ability to fly.
    • Midnite is also one of two bosses (Cursa is another) who has these traits as well as the only one who is immune to Line-of-sight moves normally.
  • The song that plays during the first phase of Midnite's battle is done in a swing style.
