Merry Mountain is a winter-themed track in Mario Kart Tour and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe's Booster Course Pass. It was added with the Winter Tour.

Layout[]

Merry Mountain is located in a snowy, mountainous region on Mushroom Earth with a small village of Toads, Yoshis, and Shy Guys. Several sleighs with green Toads flying them can be spotted near the present tower at the top of the mountain. The race starts out in the small village, with a curve going right and then the path splits up. Either the player drives up a seemingly old railway, or keeps on driving the normal path up the mountain. The upper path has a long curve to the right, while the normal path features several tighter curves. After a few more curves, the paths reunite and lead up a straight path up the mountain, driving over a bridge and a small snake-like curvy road. Then, the player is at the highest point of the mountain and can see the towering present tower standing there. Afterwards, the path takes a right curve going down a giant slope leading back into the village which completes the lap.

Design[]

  • On the side of the road, there are candy cane-like lanterns.
  • The path leading up the mountain after the small bridge has a lot of big presents laying at the side of the track.
  • The track's setting is at sunset, and the moon can be seen.
  • The railway seemingly is the way how to travel to Merry Mountain, and actually a small part of the railway connecting it with the corresponding tunnel in the mountain is cut off due to it being used for racing now. When driving down the slope near the end of the track, you can even see a huge bridge leading into a tunnel in the mountainous areas beyond Merry Mountain.
  • There are old factories on some of the surrounding cliffs. The railway passes them by.
  • Several Pipe-shaped candles surround the track.
  • You can see a lift leading into the present tower with the seats full of presents. These lifts are transported from the factories to the present tower, and from the present tower into s small shed behind the village.
  • It is very snowy.
  • There are small Shy Guy shops in the village, full with candy canes and presents.

Trivia[]

  • This is the second course in Mario Kart Tour to feature a Half pipe ramp, the first one being Maple Treeway.
  • It seems as if the present tower is operated by the many Toads.
