The Megasparkle Goomba starts off as smaller Goombas but then turns into a Giant Goomba with the red Royal Sticker on its head. Since he wears the Royal Sticker, Megasparkle Goomba has yellow eyes, alike every other enemy that has a Royal Crown.
Megasparkle Goomba as many attacks at its disposal. It can reform into a Giant Goomba or into smaller Goombas lined up in a square. As a giant, it can fold itself up into a cone making Mario's Jump stickers useless (unless he uses a Iron Jump sticker).
The Megasparkle Goomba always starts off as a smaller, weak Goomba with a crowd behind him. Mario should take the chance to hit him hard with Shiny based Stickers or multi-hit Stickers like Hopslipper until he turns into a giant. Mario should block attacks successfully or take major damage. When the Megasparkle Goomba splits into a bunch of smaller Goombas line up in a giant square, Mario should use the Fan thing Sticker to blow all of them away and deals 25 damage in the process. After getting Megasparkle Goomba's HP to 0, the leader tries to get the other Goombas to battle again. They refuse and leave the leader who has only 1 HP left. Any weak Sticker like Worn-Out Jump or Worn-Out Hammer will send Megasparkle Goomba flying and Mario earns his first Royal Sticker.
- Not counting Bowser and Bowser Jr., Megasparkle Goomba is the only boss in Paper Mario: Sticker Star to have his own official artwork.
- The Megasparkle Goomba is the second major boss in a Paper Mario game being a species of Goomba. The first is the Goomba King from Paper Mario.
- The Papercraft Megacrinkle Goomba from Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam is a reference to the Megasparkle Goomba, despite having black eyes
- Despite being the first boss, the player may choose to battle it second, third or any other place (other than last as he must be defeated to face Bowser). It is possible to battle the five world bosses in any order.
