Mega Fuzzies are larger Fuzzies found in the New Super Mario Bros. series. They have the same moves as a Fuzzy and just like them, follow set tracks however their larger size makes them harder to avoid. Despite their large size, they can be destroyed in the same way as a standard Fuzzy. Fireballs and Shells can instantly destroy one while iceballs can freeze a Mega Fuzzy to be used as platforms for reaching high ledges and getting Star Coins.
Super Mario series[]
New Super Mario Bros. Wii[]
Mega Fuzzies are first seen in New Super Mario Bros. Wii, they move in the same way as a standard Fuzzy (moving along set tracks) except the fact that they are larger. They are found in World 7-3, World 9-5, and World 9-8. Despite their larger size, Mega Fuzzies are no more durable than a regular Fuzzy and can be defeated with the effects of a Fire Flower or Starman. A Mega Fuzzy can also be frozen with the effects of an Ice Flower or Penguin Suit and from there, the plumbers can use the frozen Mega Fuzzy as a platform for reaching higher ledges and Star Coins.
New Super Mario Bros. 2[]
Mega Fuzzies later appear in New Super Mario Bros. 2. In this game, they are much larger than they were previously and also move at a slightly slower pace, they are commonly found in caverns such as World 4-C. The use of the Fire Flower, Super Leaf, Gold Flower, Mega Mushroom, Starman, or Invincibility Leaf, can also be used to defeat them in this game. Mega Fuzzies can also be seen moving around niches as a way of indicating secret nooks with Star Coins.
New Super Mario Bros. U/New Super Luigi U/New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe[]
Mega Fuzzies also appear in New Super Mario Bros. U as well as New Super Luigi U and New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe behaving as they did before however this time, appearing much more commonly and also moving faster than before. In these games, they are commonly found in various levels of Rock-Candy Mines, Meringue Clouds, and Superstar Road alongside the smaller Fuzzies. In this game, the Mega Fuzzy can also stay in one place and float in the air as an idle obstacle. Mega Fuzzies can be beaten with the effects of a Fire Flower or Starman. They can once again be frozen with the effects of an Ice Flower or Penguin Suit as well. Mega Fuzzies return to their size from New Super Mario Bros. Wii in these games.
Mario Party 10[]
Mega Fuzzies are seen yet again in Mario Party 10, in this game, they are found in the minigame Fuzzy Fliers as obstacles. During the minigame, players are flying up the tower with their Clouds amidst the scrolling screen and must avoid the Fuzzies and Mega Fuzzies along the way whilst collecting smaller Clouds to sustain their time. Some Mega Fuzzies are moving along wires while others linger idly in the air, if players are hit by a Mega Fuzzy, they lose three points which can bring them closer to their cloud losing it's puff. The player that reaches the top first is the winner.
Trivia[]
- In Mario Party 10, despite technically being larger than regular Fuzzies, Mega Fuzzies still possess the same threat level and can dock the same number of points from players.
