The Mega Blooper (巨大ゲッソ Kyodai Gessō?, Giant Blooper) is a recurring character in the Mario franchise. It first appears in Mario Party 6.

The Mega Blooper is a giant Blooper.

Behavior[]

The Mega Bloopers have the same behavior as the regular Bloopers. They can shoot ink to blind the players. In Mario Party 9, a giant Blooper can hurl Urchins at the players.

In Super Mario series[]

Mario Party 6[]

A Giant Blooper appears in the minigame Blooper Scooper. It destroys the ship players are on and creates a vortex. Players need to avoid swimming too close to the Blooper in the vortex as well as avoid hitting floating ship crates that stun them. The Giant Blooper periodically shoots tentacles from the water and spins them to create additional obstacles for the players. Giant Blooper appears in several pages of the Miracle Book, one which is referencing Blooper Scooper.

Mario Party 9[]

In Mario Party 9, a large Blooper appears as the stage boss of the Blooper Beach board, namely in Solo mode, where it is sent to by Bowser Jr. when the player characters make their way over. In its boss minigame, Blooper Barrage, players are on a ship shooting cannonballs at it with their cannons, while Blooper jumps out of the water to throw Urchins at the players. When his health reaches halfway, he begins to throw two Urchins at once. When defeated, he appears dazed in the water before exploding. He is one of the minions Bowser whom Bowser uses in Bowser's Block Battle.

Super Mario Party[]

The Mega Blooper appears in Megafruit Paradise and Watermelon Walkabout. If the player lands on the Event Space near the Mega Blooper (Megafruit Paradise) or the the arrow on the spinner lands on the white section (Watermelon Walkabout), it will break the bridge forcing whoever is on the bridge to return to the start. During the final three turns, Mega Blooper will determine who will receive the special item.

A Mega Blooper appears in the River Survival mode. The Mega Blooper appears in one of the final river paths called "Monster Attack!". It appears at the end of the river, the players must shake the Joy-Con to escape the Mega Blooper's whirlpool.
