Mass Meteor

Mass Meteor is a Duel minigame which first appears in Mario Party 6 and returns in Mario Party Superstars.

Gameplay[]

The two characters compete to make their way through an asteroid belt in outer space. The goal for each character is to reach the end first. The asteroids serve as obstacles, because if a character hits one, they spin around in a fixed position for a few seconds. At the same time, the asteroid is knocked out of the way. Whoever passes through the goal ring at the end first is the winner, but if both players do so simultaneously, the minigame ends in a tie.

Ending[]

The winner does their winning animation while on an asteroid, while the losing character flies off into the background, crashes into an asteroid, and bounces away. In Mario Party 6, if the minigame ends in a tie, both characters are seen bouncing off one another while flying off into space. In Mario Party Superstars, even when a tie occurs, both characters are on the asteroid, doing their winning animation.
