Mario Teaches Typing was released for Windows & Macintosh in 1991. It was designed to teach typing. It is a game that teaches the player how to type, via the use of Mario series elements.

The player must type in sequence of what is displayed on the computer's screen; when the player types correctly, he or she enables the game's story to advance. By typing the letters or words displayed, the player allows a wide variety of actions to be performed such as stomping a Goomba.

  • The game also features an alternate game mode, where the player will type a letter that is a symbol or a word.
  • It has a secret audio rap track, called "Practice Makes Perfect."
