Mario Sports is a loosely defined series used to refer to Mario games in which the characters can player in a variety of sports. It is not to be confused with the Mario & Sonic series, which is a crossover series featuring both Mario and Sonic the Hedgehog characters competing in a variety of Olympic sporting events.
The first installment is Mario Sports Mix, a Wii game developed by Square Enix and released in 2010. The second and most recent is Mario Sports Superstars, a Nintendo 3DS game developed by Camelot and released in 2017.
