Mario Kart: Super Circuit is a Game Boy Advance game released in 2001. It has eight playable characters and in GP four difficulty levels- 50cc, 100cc, 150cc and 150cc Mirror. It has 40 courses -- 20 new courses and all 20 courses from Super Mario Kart. It was the first ever Mario Kart title for a handheld. Each track has item boxes (to hinder opponents) and coins (to higher your top speed). In Time Trial Mode you have one or three Mushrooms (Items to give you speed boost (Mushrooms given is depending on Character)). Each GP has four races.
Multiplayer
Super Circuit was one of the few GBA games to offer Link Up Mode (a cable running from one Handheld to another. Players can then race against each over in GP mode, VS Mode or Battle. It also has Ghost Car which means you can swap time trial records and try to beat them by beating the ghost car.
Characters
You can play as eight Characters who are classed on weight and speed. The two Characters with highest speed and highest rank are Princess Peach and Toad. The eight Characters are: Mario, Luigi, Yoshi, Toad, Peach, Wario, Bowser and Donkey Kong.
Bonus Courses
If you get a Rank Star or more in a cup you get a bonus version with the old courses. So if you got Star in Lightning Cup you would unlock another Lightning Cup with courses from Super Mario Kart. Although the regular courses only have three laps, the Bonus (or Extra) courses have five laps. Most of the hazards have been removed such as a couple of Chain- Chomps from Rainbow Road.
