Mario Bros. is the very first series of the Mario franchise. Its first installment is Mario Bros. for the Game & Watch, let alone for the Mario franchise in general. It is a one-off title featuring Mario and Luigi working at a bottling plant before they were reintroduced as plumbers in the arcade game Mario Bros..
The series title became the basis for Super Mario Bros., the first installment of the Super Mario series, which went on to become the primary series of the Mario franchise.
