The Mario Artist series is a series of eight Mario-themed creativity games for the Nintendo 64DD, released exclusively in Japan. Because the Nintendo 64DD was a commercial failure, only four of these games were released whereas the other four were canceled. The first installment, Mario Artist: Paint Studio, is a successor to Mario Paint for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System.
