Mario Adv. is one of 18-Volt's microgames which appears in WarioWare: D.I.Y. Showcase.

Layout[]

Mario Adv. is directly based on Super Mario Advance, although the microgame uses slightly different assets than that of the origin game. The sprites are less colored than in Super Mario Advance, which incidentally causes some, such as the Tweeter's, to more closely resemble its sprites from the Super Mario All-Stars version of Super Mario Bros. 2. The background music that plays is a higher pitched variation of the overworld theme from Super Mario Advance.

Given the grassland setting, Mario Adv. appears to take place in a World 1 level, although the HUD reads World 0-0, and the microgame takes place in an area that does not appear in the original game. The HUD in general is like that of Super Mario Advance's: the Health Meter on the left shows Mario with two small hearts, meaning he is in his Super form during the microgame; one Ace Coin is shown to have been collected; and the score is at 1,983. There are two grass platforms, and a small gap is placed between them. Mario is on the left platform, which is slightly wider than the one on the right, which has an enemy on it.

Gameplay[]

The object is for Mario to throw a vegetable at an enemy to defeat it. The enemy is either a Shy Guy, a Big Shy Guy, a Tweeter, or a Ninji, selected by the game at random. If Mario misses the enemy or does not throw a vegetable within the time limit, the player loses at the microgame.
