Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games Arcade Edition is the arcade variation of Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games and the first arcade title in the Mario & Sonic series. It was first released in Japan in February 2016 then in North America in June 2016. It is set during the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The game only supports 2-4 players multiplayer.
In 2020, another Mario & Sonic arcade game was released, Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 - Arcade Edition.
