Mario's Slides is one of Mario's minigames in Super Mario 64 DS and a Variety minigame in New Super Mario Bros..
Layout[]
In Super Mario 64 DS, the minigame takes place in-between two cliffs with a river a night, while in New Super Mario Bros., this was changed to an underground section with brown bricks, and sewage pipes on either end.
Gameplay[]
In this minigame, a Mario head will be moving automatically from the top of the screen towards the bottom of the stage. There are lines present on the screen which Mario will move across, but the player will use the Nintendo DS stylus to draw more lines on the screen to direct Mario towards the Power Star, and away from Piranha Plants. The player can also increase Mario's speed of movement by tapping the downward arrows on the sides of the Touch Screen. If Mario lands in a Piranha Plant, the game will automatically end. Once the player collects five Stars, they clear a stage, and the screen resets to a new stage, with later stages having different ways to increase the difficulty.
In New Super Mario Bros., there is a multiplayer variation titled Vs. Mario's Slides. It is a 1-on-1 minigame, so it only supports two players. It plays mostly like the single-player version, but Mario will head back and forth between the two players.
