Mammoshka is a boss that appears in Mario & Luigi: Dream Team. It is fought at the summit of Mount Pajamaja and is the guardian of the mountain.

The Mammoshka is encountered as the last trial that must be faced. He is first encountered while he was sleeping in his lair. Big Massif and Lil' Massif managed to sneak past him but Mario and Luigi aren't so lucky as Luigi accidentally woke the monster up with his sneezing.

Appearance

The Mammoshka is a large, mammoth creature that is mainly red in color. He has a crack on his forehead (which implies that you can deal more damage to him by stomping on top of his head). In the Battle Ring, he is blue instead.

Battle

In battle, the Mammoshka has a wide variety of attacks. The Mammoshka mainly attacks by chucking rocks at Mario and Luigi (hammer defense). He can also send a large snowball at one of the Bros. and, if not blocked (hammer defense) correctly, it will send one of them flying backwards where they must jump in order to free themselves, and if that is not done, the Mammoshka will smash the snowball with his might. The Mammoshka can also summon Block Monolifts to give him a type of headgear. He can throw a rock from the background, which must be blocked with the hammer and if it is successfully blocked, the rock can destroy his current helmet. Also, the Mammoshka can chase one of the Bros. which one of them must jump over the other (jump defense). Mammoshka can suck one of the Bros. into his trunk and then blows that brother into the other on a hit (Chase Attack, jump defense).

Strategy

The Mammoshka's weakness is his head, due to the legend, so using Jump-based Bros. Attacks is recommended. It should be noted that when the three Block Monolifts appear on the field, two of them will have a spike helmet and one of them a cracked-shell helmet, or a Buzzy Beetle-like helmet. Both Mario and Luigi should focus taking out the Block Monolifts (especially the ones with spike helmets) before attacking the Mammoshka himself to damage him. Once the Mammoshka has been weakened, it will shrink down to a smaller, blue form which Mario and Luigi must jump on in order to finish him off.
