The Malibuts do not appear on the map, but they accompany Cheep Cheeps (Spiny Cheep Cheeps in remake), Mecha-Bloopers and Starkisses. They have three methods of attacks. With their first method of attack, they send large yellow-green pearls to Mario or Luigi. The second method of attack is to throw pillows at the offender. Their third method of attack is shooting small yellow-green pearls to Mario or Luigi.
Mario and Luigi can latter the large pearls and jump over the small pearls. The Malibuts will do their second method of attack after Mario or Luigi stomps on them. Mario and Luigi can defend themselves with a hammer; in the remake, they can counterattack the pillows. The Malibuts are vulnerable to any attack.
mal is a Latin root word for "bad". Malibut also comes from halibut, a type of fish.
- They are one of the enemies to not appear in Minion Quest: The Search for Bowser.
