Madpole

Madpoles are tadpole-like enemies in Super Mario 3D World and Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury. They are blue in color and are fast in water. Madpoles swim calmly when left alone but as soon as Mario or his fri ends approach the Madpoles, they become irate and start chasing after them in an attempt to damage them. Madpoles always appear in groups in the levels they appear in. They swim on the surfaces of lakes and are found commonly in later parts of the games it appears in. Despite their aggressive nature, they are relatively weak and can be defeated with any attack.

Madpole's name is a portmanteau of "mad" and "tadpole."
