Mad Ladders, titled Rung Direction in PAL releases, is a General minigame in Mario Party: Island Tour.
Opening[]
Two Stone Spikes are shown, and each of them throw a boulder down the cliff simultaneously. The scene transitions to the four characters, who are climbing up ladders attached to the cliff. Two particular characters jump between ladders to dodge the boulders raining down.
Gameplay[]
The objective is to climb the ladders and reach the top of the cliff first, all while avoiding the boulders dropped by the Stone Spikes. If a character is hit by a boulder, they are stunned temporarily. It is possible for characters to jump from one ladder to another. When a character reaches the end of a ladder, they are required to jump to another one to continue climbing. Whoever makes it to the top first is the winner.
In Time Attack, Mad Ladders is the ninth minigame. If the player's character avoids getting him by a boulder, they earn a Party Star.
