Lucky Day

Lucky Day

Lucky Day is a badge that appears in Paper Mario and Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door.

Paper Mario

This badge is one of the best and hardest to get badges in the game. This badge costs 7 BP, the highest cost for a badge and is tied with Money Money . This badge may cost so much BP but it is well worth it. This badge is a much more enhanced version of Pretty Lucky so this badge can prevent enemies attacks. When an enemy declares an attack, he could miss automatically and the word 'lucky' appears. This badge is one of the best in this regard as it makes enemies miss at a 5/6 success rate.

This badge, as stated above is pretty difficult to obtain. This badge is only obtainable near the end of the game as Mario must at least be able to reach Starborn Valley . Mario must follow a fourteen letter chain involving Goompapa and his friends remembering the days they went fishing. This chain both starts and ends with Goompapa. Eventually, Mario finds a letter sent to Goompapa, Goombario 's father. This second letter, when sent, will begin a long letter chain and quest. This now gives Mario a letter directed to Muss T. , a Toad at Princess Peach's Catles 's remains. Afterwards, a letter directed to Koover at the front of Koopa Village . He will give Mario a letter to Fishmael , a fisherman at the Toad Town Port. Fishmael gives Mario another letter. This one is to Koover again and once delivered, Mario will get another letter. This letter is delivered to Mr. E., a Toad in front of the Toad House in Dry Dry Outpost . Afterward, Mario gets yet another letter.

The letter Mr. E. gives Mario is directed to Miss T. Miss T. is located around the Dojo and gives Mario a letter to Franky who lives in Boo's Mansion. After Franky 's letter is delivered, he gives Mario the letter directed to Dane T. Dane T. is found in front of the Train Station on the southern end of Toad Town . Here, Dane T. gives Mario a letter to the red Yoshi child on Lavalava Island . The Yoshi will give Mario a letter to to Dane T. again and Dane will give a new letter to Mario. This letter is directed to Frost T. , Toad living in Starborn Valley. Frost T. is the green-headed Toad in front of a house. Frost T. gives Mario the final letter of this chain. This letter is directed to Goompapa. When Mario, gives this badge to Goompapa, Goompapa will give Mario the Lucky Day badge for all of his work.

Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door

In TTYD, Lucky Day does make a reappearance. It is basically the same badge as it was in the last game effect and BP wise. This badge is still really amazing in that combined with many Pretty Lucky badges, it can prevent almost any attacks enemies use. The word 'lucky' still appears just like Close Call and Pretty Lucky. This is the only of the Lucky Badges in this game that does not have a Partner version. This badge is still very hard to obtian in this game too. Although, not as much information can be put for this badge's location in this game. It is the second to last item given to Mario in the Pit of 100 Trials . It is found in the large treasure chest located on the 90th floor so it is really difficult to fight your way through.
