Throughout the Mario franchise[]
- Bowser kidnapping Princess Peach with Mario (and/or Luigi) having to save the day. This occurs in many games and is usually the main plot of the entire series.
- Peach getting kidnapped in general whether if it's by Bowser or some other character (like Sir Grodus, Princess Shroob, Antasma, etc.)
- In most games, the final level of a certain video game is usually Bowser's Castle (or any other Bowser-related location such as Neo Bowser Castle from Mario & Luigi: Dream Team).
In Paper Mario series[]
- There are several instances of characters breaking the fourth wall.
- The opening of the game takes place at Mario and Luigi's house (with the exception for Paper Mario: Sticker Star and Paper Mario: The Origami King).
- A parade happens at the end of the game.
- This originates from Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars
