Not to be confused with Lava Bubble or Lava Blobble.

Lava Blubbles (originally named Fireballs) are blue Lava Bubbles found in Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars and its remake. They are a blue variant of Lava Babbles found in Booster Tower, in the floor of the mine room. They ambush Mario when walked over.

Battle[]

In battle, Fireballs tend to float up in the air and attack with a dash for physical damage. They are capable of using Drain and Mega Drain as special moves in battle. Fireballs have high attack, magic attack, and evade, making them strong and hard to attack, but not durable. They can deal damage with moves like Hot Shot and Fire Saber.

Strategy[]

Fireballs have very low physical defense and HP so taking them down with a physical attack isn't difficult. They are weak to both Jump and Ice but since Mallow most likely hasn't learned Snowy during that point in the game yet, Mario's Super Jump is effective on them (though it's still recommended to use just physical attacks to save on FP).

Trivia[]

  • Enemies that resemble Lava Blubbles appear in the Paper Mario series, specifically in Paper Mario and Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door (as well as its remake on the Nintendo Switch). These are cyan-colored Lava Bubbles called Embers. It's possible that Embers were inspired by the Lava Blubble's design, given that both enemies are essentially Lava Bubbles that have been given a blue hue and differing stats from their parent species.
    • Blue-colored Lava Bubbles also appear in Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario 3D World. These enemies could arguably be classified as either Lava Blubbles or Embers, or simply as ordinary Lava Bubbles that have just been recolored blue.
