Lava Babbles (originally named Pyrospheres) are variants of Lava Bubbles found in Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars and its remake.
In Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars[]
They are located in Barrel Volcano, as well as Bowser's Keep. Lava Babbles usually appear with stronger creatures in battle, such as Chained Kongs or Stompillars. While they appear redder than regular Lava Bubbles in the remake, they share the same palette in the original game.
In battle, Pyrospheres mainly attack by leaping into the air and then trying to burn one of Mario's party members. They can also use special moves such as Drain and Flame Stone. Pyropspheres are weak to ice moves, so Mallow's Snowy or an Ice Bomb are effective against them.
When Mario and his allies reach the volcano's main chamber, a large group of Lava Babbles are flying around. The swarm spots the group and quickly coalesces into Czar Dragon.
