Krunch the Kremling is a member of the Kremling Krew who appears in the Donkey Kong series.

Diddy Kong Racing and Diddy Kong Racing DS[]
Krunch first appears in Diddy Kong Racing and later in the Nintendo DS remake entitled Diddy Kong Racing DS. In the game, Krunch has low acceleration, heavy weight, difficult handling, and high-top speed, according to the manual.
According to the manual for the game, Krunch and his "colleague" were behind a tree spying on Diddy to see if he is up to any anti-Kremling plots. Krunch's friend didn't want to go with him. Instead, Krunch's colleague was told to tell their boss, possibly indicating they were sent by K. Rool to spy on Diddy. It then turned into Krunch lending a hand to Timber to stop Wizpig from ruling over Timber's Island.
In Diddy Kong Racing DS, Krunch's colleague didn't originally not want to go spy on the monkeys with him in the opening cutscene, but was rather insisted by Krunch to tell K. Rool, while Krunch, himself, helps out.
