Klepto is a character in Mario Party Advance. He is the game's character representative for the species of the same name.
Profile[]
Physical description[]
Klepto has the same appearance as a regular member of his species.
Behavior[]
Klepto has a verbal tic in which he stutters "for" during conversations.
In Mario Party Advance[]
Klepto lives at the Klepto Ruins, where he guards the treasure. He is featured in the Treasure of Mystery! quest.
During the quest, some time after Mr. E enters Klepto Ruins in search of treasure, Klepto is asked by Mr. E about the treasure's location. Klepto flies up to reveal a treasure chest under his body. Klepto says that the treasure has a four-digit code, with said code being his "favorite word." The code is 4444, with each individual digit, four, having the same pronunciation as Klepto's verbal tic "for." If the code is entered correctly, the treasure chest opens to reveal a giant pile of shiny treasure, and the player is congratulated by Klepto. If the code is entered incorrectly, Klepto berates the player and bluntly says that "for mean four."
After the player inputs the correct code, Klepto offers the treasure to Mr. E, who refuses because he was only interested in the mystery behind it, and then flees. Klepto praises the player again for solving his riddle, and he rewards them the Map Maker Gaddget.
In the ending, it is revealed that Klepto changed the treasure chest's code to try and better protect the treasure.
