The crown[1] is a piece of jewelry belonging to King Boo. It first appears in Luigi's Mansion and appears the most prominently in the Luigi's Mansion series thereon.

Description[]

In the Luigi's Mansion series, the crown holds a diamond at the top, colored red in the first game but colored purple afterward, including for the Luigi's Mansion King Boo counterpart in Mario Kart Tour.

In most other appearances, the crown is golden, encrusted with jewels like Peach's Crown, with four red ones encrusted around the crown and one blue one in the center. King Boo's crown bears a slight resemblance to the one worn by the King Boo from Super Mario Sunshine.

In Luigi's Mansion series[]

Luigi's Mansion[]

King Boo's crown also counts as a Red Diamond, which has the same value as a regular coin, 5,000G. King Boo's crown is the only treasure required to collect, making it possible yet unlikely to get 5,000G for an entire playthrough.

Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon / Luigi's Mansion 2 HD[]

The gem on King Boo's crown was made into a purple diamond-shaped stone resembling an amethyst, and it is powerful enough to shatter the Dark Moon.

Luigi's Mansion 3[]

The crown retains its appearance from Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon. It now has more visual detail, due to the Nintendo Switch graphics. After defeating King Boo, Luigi manages to obtain the crown's gem, although it vanishes after The Last Resort collapses and Professor E. Gadd's containment field is breached, and the ghosts are no longer antagonists.
