Etymology[]

The word ken (犬) is the Japanese word for "dog."

In the WarioWare series[]

WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$![]

Ken is first seen in the cutscene shown from turning on the game. Here, Wario sees Ken on the news, delivering a report about the in-universe Game Boy Advance game Pyoro's success and how video game sales are making their way up. Seeing a potential to make large profits, Wario is given the idea to start his own business, WarioWare, Inc..

Ken later makes another appearance during the ending scene of 9-Volt's story, when he reports that the Game Boy Advance SP has released; this prompts 9-Volt to go purchase one.

Ken is last seen in the ending cutscene. Three in-universe weeks after completing Wario's second stage, Ken asks if the game will really sell, followed by a scene of Wario earning lots of money.

WarioWare: Twisted![]

Ken has taken a desk job at the local news agency, Diamond City Broadcasting Station, Inc., and he is instead named Anchorman Ken. Here, in the opening scene for Wario-Man's story, Ken talks about how Wario has once again sold a massively popular game, with his new one surpassing all sales records.

WarioWare: Touched![]

Ken apparently takes a job hosting Ear Candy, a show on Diamond City's local music network, and is named Ken the VJ. Ken is seen during Mona's story, in which he reports the top five music artists of the week, with Mona taking the number one spot. Ken furthermore reports that Mona will be performing at the Hawt House.

WarioWare: Smooth Moves[]

His title is now Ken the Reporter just like in his first appearance. Ken is shown at the end of Mona's story, reporting on a football game between the Diamond City Roughs and the Dinosaurs alongside Manager Joe.
