Mario + Rabbids

Kanya is the main antagonist of the DLC mission The Last Spark Hunter in Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope. Her appearance is foreshadowed in the stage Deep, Dark Secret, where a statue in her image is shown, though headless.

Profile[]

Physical description[]

Kanya is a female Rabbid with black, spiky hair, red eyebrows, and ribbons around her ears. She has a mouth with sharp teeth that make her look like a Chain Chomp when she smiles. She wears a black dress either with white sleeves that have red cuffs or without sleeves with red armbands. Underneath the skirt is red shorts. She also has black and white boots. Her design strongly resembles Edge, though with red instead of green and purple.

Personality traits[]

Despite being insane (proven by her constant cackle) and stubborn nature, Kanya is shown to be a master with machines, building a working robot in the image of King Bob-omb as well as a mecha suit.

Powers and abilities[]

Kanya is very smart with machines, but has no physical or magic powers of her own.

Biography[]

Prior to the game's events, Edge betrayed Cursa after she concluded the latter to be a ruthless individual, so Kanya was created in Edge's place. This plan went horribly wrong, as Kanya struck out on her own to take over the Melodic Gardens and the Galaxy with an army of robots in King Bob-omb's image. She would later bump into Mario's team during the takeover and be defeated, her mecha launching itself into space where she supposedly died of asphyxia.

In Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope[]

While she is not featured in the main game, Kanya makes a cameo in the mission Deep, Dark Secret, where a headless statue in her image. She is first seen in the flesh in the mission The Last Spark Hunter, where Mario and his gang run into her near the middle of the level, where she sends a King Bob-omb robot to hinder their progress. After Mario and company destroy it, Kanya flees the scene to make the next one.

Kanya is later fought at the very end, where she drives a larger mech suit in the image of King Bob-omb.

Battle[]

Phase 1[]

Kanya starts with a shield that nullifies all attacks. On each of her turns, Kanya summons three standard Bob-ombs that charge at the heroes. She herself can attack by jumping high, then landing on a hero to crush them underneath her and can also throw Bob-ombs directly at the character. The phase is terminated when the heroes free Dorrie, allowing him and Allegra to join the fight on their side.

Phase 2[]

During this phase, the heroes must hit some switches with Bob-ombs to cleanse them of toxic darkmess, then activate them. This done, Allegra will provide some help for the good guys, though she is on the sidelines: she and Dorrie will sing a song, removing the mech's shield. Kanya still throws bombs as she does, but now she summons four Bob-ombs on her turn and has replaced her crushing attack with a spinning slide. The shield will also come back when Kanya suffers enough damage, so the gang will have to repeat the process until she is defeated.

Kanya has 40,970 hit points.

Trivia[]

  • While her statue depicts a spiky flail for her weapon, Kanya does not wield one in combat.
  • Kanya is the only Spark Hunter to not be shown on the battlefield itself; instead, she fights with a mecha that resembles King Bob-omb.
