Kab-omb is a subspecies of Bob-omb which debuted in New Super Mario Bros. Kab-ombs behave similarly to Bob-ombs, although their fuses are not as sensitive and only ignite when hit with fire. Kab-ombs have a black face just like a Bob-omb, except they have smaller circular eyes, big blue lips that stick out the front, and slightly smaller feet. It also has a green jagged fringe around the bottom of itself.

Kab-omb

A Kab-omb as seen in New Super Mario Bros.

Kab-ombs make their debut in New Super Mario Bros.. They behave similarly to Bob-ombs, walking around and can easily be defeated with a stomp but if they're hit by a fireball or Raining Debris, they will start running around uncontrollably left and right and after a few seconds will jump in the air and explode into fireworks. The only stage they appear in is World 8-8. Unfortunately, this stage is filled with Raining Debris, falling molten rocks that can ignite the Kab-ombs so evasion is very important. Taking it slow and stomping any oncoming Kab-ombs before they're hit by the debris is a quick and easy strategy.

In Mario Golf: World Tour[]

After 8 years of absence, the Kab-omb returns in Mario Golf: World Tour as an item. When used, it explodes in mid-air to drop the ball straight down.

Trivia[]

  • The name Kab-omb is a pun of the word "Kaboom", an explosion sound, and its parent species, Bob-omb.
