"Jungle Fever" is the eleventh episode of The Super Mario Bros. Super Show!. Its corresponding live-action segment is "Dance."

Synopsis[]

While venturing through the Amazon Jungle in search of a witch doctor named Dr. Sheldon, Mario, Luigi, and Toad are hit with some of King Koopa's itching powder.

Plot[]

Mario, Luigi, Princess Toadstool, and Toad arrive in the Amazon Jungle in search of a witch doctor named Sheldon, who might be able to rid the Mushroom Kingdom of King Koopa. As the group hacks their way through the Amazon Jungle, Mario calls a lunch break and the group discussing their plans. Unfortunately, a couple of Shy Guys listen in on the plans and report to King Koopa. He decides that he'll have to beat them to the punch.

Unaware of King Koopa's plan, the group continues toward a gorge named George's Gorge, where they try to cross a bridge. King Koopa then blocks their way back and has the bridge's ropes cut causing the Marios to have to try and climb the bridge to the top. Knowing they'd try this, King Koopa sends in a group of Albatosses to throw in some Bob-ombs that explode covering everyone in a white powder. Everyone then starts to scratch and King Koopa claims its itching powder. Another wave of Albatosses attacks but Mario grabs one and forces it to save his friends and give them a ride. King Koopa is unhappy about it and chases after the group.

Though it seems the Marios will reach Sheldon first, King Koopa manages to stop their ride by having a Birdo shoot an egg onto the Albatoss's face. The Marios go down. Somehow the itch powder no longer affects the Princess but her companions are itching so bad they can only scratch. King Koopa arrives in the village first and catches Sheldon, leaving behind his assistant named Butterfingers.

The Princess arrives a moment too late but Butterfingers claims she can make an anti-itch potion herself. She tries but fails. It's decided that only Sheldon can make the potion and since the Marios are out of commission the Princess decides to go alone. Butterfingers goes with her believing the Princess cannot face King Koopa alone.

Meanwhile, King Koopa forces Sheldon to make him a potion, which will turn the Princess into a rock. Sheldon agrees with little fuss and mixes the potion. The Princess and Butterfingers arrive but are captured. Sheldon then takes some of the potion and warns the Princess to duck. King Koopa, who was standing behind the Princess at the time, gets hit with the potion and he starts to itch as well.

Sheldon and his friends return to the Marios where he gives them the "cure" to King Koopa's itch powder, spaghetti.
