Jump Up, Super Star! Is a song sung by Kate Higgins. The song uses an upbeat, big-band jazz style, and is most notable for being the first song from the Super Mario series feature lyrics, something almost never heard in songs from Mario games. The song has Pauline detailing an adventure across the worlds of Super Mario Odyssey, referring to herself as Mario's "1-UP Girl".
The lyrics are also printed on the inside of the game case for all regions. A Japanese version of the song has its own lyrics, unique to the international version.[ It can be played from a boombox in the Metro Kingdom and the Mushroom Kingdom.
This song was performed by The Super Mario Players and was sung by Kate Higgins (credited as Kate Davis) in English and songwriter Aimi Mukohara in Japanese.
The song also plays in Mario's debut trailer for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. In addition, passing by her or other members of the Super Mario Players band will recruit them to perform the song in the New Donk City Hall stage.

Development[]
Naoto Kubo composed the song. Nobuyoshi Suzuki wrote the lyrics of the song.[3]
Rob Tunstall titled the song, "Jump Up, Super Star!" and translated the Japanese lyrics to English. Knowing Suzuki and his team wanted "something big and romantic", he listened to the song plenty of times as he made his first draft of the English lyrics. Then he fleshed out the lyrics as he took ideas from the translated lyrics to match the rhythm and the melody of the song. After doing his first draft of the song, he and Rob Heiret passed back and forth a few times. They shared their song translation to the studios in Japan through a localisation demo.[4] Japan gave feedback to Tunstall that they liked a lot of what they have done but also "wanted a lot of it to change." This time, Tunstall and Heiret leant more to the Mario references. Through conversations with Kubo, Tunstall learnt about Kubo's vision on the song to be "fun, bombastic jazz number you could enjoy". The development team also wanted the chorus to be as "catchy as possible, simple and repetitive" so non-English speakers can pick up the lyrics and sing along.[3]
More than a few times, Tunstall's team had a lot of video conferences with Gohara, Kubo and Suzuki at the NCL headquarters.[3]

In Super Mario Odyssey, Pauline sang "Jump Up, Super Star!" at the festival in New Donk City.
In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate[]
In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, "Jump Up, Super Star!" appears in the Mario playlist. In New Donk City, there is a greater chance that the song will be played randomly.
The song plays in Pauline's spirit battle.
