Jump Pads are parts of the track that force you to jump, similar to Boost Pads. They launch you for short distances over jumps, pits, or for a slight speed boost in Mario Kart Wii. They were originally colored yellow, although Mario Kart DS made them look like Boost Pads. They started out in Super Mario Kart. For example, the last and first stretch of Ghost Valley 2 has one, as does the original Rainbow Road. They later returned in Mario Kart: Super Circuit, as in Sky Garden and Shy Guy Beach.
