Jr. Troopa's Playground is a location in Paper Mario. It is an area "owned" by the local neighborhood bully, Jr. Troopa.

Layout[]

Jr. Troopa's Playground is a fairly large area with three sections. One of them includes a few trees with a Yellow Block, another with many trees and bushes around, and the last area with many Goombas that leads to Goomba Village.

History[]

Mario fell into Jr. Troopa's Playground after falling from the broken veranda Goompa was trying to fix. Mario's process gets halted by a yellow block and doesn't have a hammer to break it. Soon, Goompa appears explaining how the veranda broke and he ended up in the playground as well. Goompa notices the yellow block and says he dropped the hammer in the area just west. Mario and Goompa search the bushes and eventually find the hammer serving as Mario's weapon. As the two try to leave the area, Jr. Troopa attacks Goompa and the young Koopa isn't too pleased that people are in "his" playground. He then challenges Mario to a fight which he eventually loses (Goompa gives a tutorial on how to fight).

After Jr. Troopa is defeated, he runs off telling Mario he hasn't seen the of him. Mario and Goompa leave the area and Mario destroys the yellow block with his hammer allowing further access. In the next area, Goompa explains to Mario about the hostile Goombas in the area and he can get a First Strike against them by either jumping on them or hammering them. He warns Mario about the Spiked Goombas since thanks to the spikes on their heads, jumping on them is useless and can only be damaged by the hammer. He also explains that Paragoombas are air enemies and only jumping will work on them. After the battles with the Goombas, Mario and Goompa head left once more into Goomba Village.
