The Item Space is a recurring space in the Mario Party series. It first appears in Mario Party 2.

The Item Space is shaped like a green treasure box, and upon landing on this space, item minigames can be played depending on the board being playing on. In item minigames, a player can obtain common items as well as a variety of rarer items, some shops do not even sell. However, Baby Bowser is featured in these games and may be responsible for the player losing the item minigame, receiving no item.

Mario Party 3[]

The Item Space sports a Toad's face on it. Item Spaces feature the same overview as their Mario Party 2 counterparts, however, new features have been added to this space. In addition tohaving a new, wider selection of games, sometimes, Toad or Baby Bowser appear instead, and ask the lander a question; depending on how their question is answered, the lander could receive rare items or possibly nothing.

Following a long absence, the Item Space makes a reappearance, although exclusively on the Perilous Palace Path board. Item Spaces are now depicted as blue with a ? Block on it. The player who lands and gets one of these items:

Mario Party: Star Rush[]

Item Spaces make another appearance, although exclusively in the Toad Scramble and Balloon Bash modes. Like in Mario Party: Island Tour, their icon is a ? Block, and they give a character one of these items:

Mario Party: The Top 100[]

The Item Spaces make a reappearance, functioning identically as in Mario Party: Star Rush.

Super Mario Party[]

If the player lands on an Item Space, the player must hit a roulette block to gain one of the three items.
