Hungry Luma SMG

Super Mario Galaxy screenshot

Hungry Lumas are a type of Luma featured in Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Galaxy 2. She asks the player for a certain number of Star Bits (and/or coins in Super Mario Galaxy 2). If the player feeds the required number of Star Bits to the Luma, She will turn into a planet, or even a galaxy. She always leave behind a pink Launch Star after transformation (with the exception of the Hungry Luma in the Sea Slide Galaxy, as the Shrinking tile planet she transformed into is accessible by cannon). In Super Mario Galaxy, she can be found on the Comet Observatory and different galaxies. In Super Mario Galaxy 2, Hungry Lumas who want coins appear, along with the ones hungry for Star Bits. The latter ones appear on the 2.5D map and the former ones appear in different galaxies. On the map, the player must "call" the Hungry Luma hungry for Star Bits and then the player will be brought back to the ship with the Hungry Luma. The Hungry Luma will stay on Starship Mario until her fed the Star Bits her requires to transform. In different galaxies, the player can just walk up to the Hungry Luma, and She will ask the player if the player can give her Coins. If the player has enough Coins and choose yes, the Coins will automatically flown into the Hungry Luma's mouth, as opposed to shooting out Star Bits towards her. But if the player has not enough coins and choose yes, the coin will not feed the Hungry Luma.
