Huffin' Puffins, also spelled Huffin Puffins, are obese flightless birds and allies in the Yoshi franchise. They first appear in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island. Huffin Puffins are always found in a group of a parent and a few children.

A Yoshi can take a Huffin' Puffin's children to use in the same fashion as eggs. A benefit the Huffin' Puffin children have over eggs is that, upon being thrown, they return to the Yoshi in a boomerang-like fashion. However, once a Huffin' Puffin child has hit a surface three times, it falls offscreen.
Yoshi's Story[]
The Huffin Puffin family makes a reappearance, behaving identically as in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island. They only appear in two levels: 1-2: Surprise!! and 3-4: Frustration. Even though Huffin' Puffins are not an enemy, Baby Yoshis growl at them as if they were one.

Huffin Puffin and its children make a minor appearance. In Bowser Lab, during the Bowserstein! quest, Bowser and Koopa Kid ask the player's character what kind of opponent they want to face in a duel minigame; if the "very scary one" is selected, Huffin Puffin will appear out of nowhere, simply say, "...Huffin puffin..." and walk away. Bowser will then chastise the player and say next time they should just challenge the "scary one," which is Naval Piranha.
In the epilogue, Huffin Puffin is said to have disappeared, with not even Bowser knowing where it went.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe[]
Since the fourth wave of Booster Course Pass, Huffin Puffins are obstacles encountered at the first turn of the Yoshi's Island course. If a racer drives into a Huffin Puffin, they are bounced back.
