Honens (also called Honhens or Bone Fish) are enemies which appear in Super Mario Land. According to the instruction booklet, Honens are the skeletal form of Torions after being eaten by Tatanga. Honens are only encountered in two levels of the Muda Kingdom, World 2-1 and World 2-3.
Honens are found in shallow water, where they repeatedly jump in and out of in a vertical line. Mario can defeat a Honen by either jumping on it, including if he stands above one as it leaps upward, or by throwing a Superball at a Honen as Superball Mario. Defeating a Honen earns the player 100 points.
