High Hoops is a recurring microgame in the WarioWare series. It first appears in WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$! and WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Party Game$!, under Jimmy T.'s Sports folder. The microgame later returns in WarioWare Gold, in which it is also one of Jimmy's microgames.

Layout

The microgame is shown from a slightly distant side angle. In WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$!, the man, basketball, and basketball hoop are all depicted with a black silhouette, and the basketball hoop is also floating in midair. The background is cream-colored, while the floor is light gray with an upper black linear gradient.

In WarioWare Gold, the scene is now in full color, and is shown to take place in a gymnasium. A few of the background features include two light blue doors on the left side, a hardwood floor, and a white backboard that the hoop is attached to. The hoop is no longer floating in midair, and it has a red rim. The basketball player wears a red basketball uniform with a white line on the side of both the shirt and pants, black socks, and red sneakers that are slightly darker than his uniform.

Gameplay

A man holding a basketball continuously jumps near a basketball hoop. When the man is at the peak of his jump, the player must press the A button to have him throw the ball into the hoop.

Each difficulty level places the basketball hoop higher than the one prior.

• The microgame's name is a pun on the phrase "high hopes."
