Heart Slacks

The Heart Slacks is a clothing item in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga and its remake Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions. It can only be equipped by Mario.

In Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga[]

The Heart Slacks can be bought at the clothes shop in Beanbean Castle Town for 520 coins, and equipping it to Mario increases his Defense by 60. In the Japanese version, the Heart Slacks is at a slightly more expensive price of 580 coins, and instead of increasing Defense, the Heart Slacks in this version increases HP by 80. In both the international and Japanese versions, the Heart Slacks also grants the DEF-Up special effect.

In Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions[]

The Heart Slacks is sold at a more expensive price of 950 coins, and can be sold for 238 coins. It becomes available at Beanbean Castle Town's clothes store after defeating Popple and Birdo in a boss fight. Despite its higher price, the Heart Slacks retains the same rating increase from the original's Japanese version, which is increasing Mario's HP by 80. The Heart Slacks instead has One-Turn Recover as its special effect.
