Gusties are long, happy, wind ghost-like creatures that appear as enemies in the Yoshi's Island series. They fly across the screen at rapid speed to try and attack a Yoshi. Gusties are often encountered in large groups, and can be eaten to be converted into a egg. Gusties are mainly found in sky-themed levels, and they behave similarly to Bullet Bills.
In Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island[]
Gusties are first seen in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island where they are commonly found in sky levels such as What's Gusty Taste like? and Don't Look Back!. They appear out of the air and fly towards Yoshi, they can be defeated with any attack.
In Yoshi's Island DS[]
Gusties appear again in Yoshi's Island DS commonly found in levels such as Windblown Wilderness and Superhard Acrobatics. Unlike the last game, the usually fly offscreen rather than appearing in thin air. Once again, any attack can beat them, tossing an Egg at one will make the Gusties appear in the Museum.
In Yoshi's New Island[]
Gusties return in Yoshi's New Island with the same behavior as the previous games. Once again, any attack can defeat them.
