Paper Mario Mario & Luigi

Goomba Wheels are a variant of Goomba which appear in a few Mario role-playing games. They first appear in Paper Mario: Sticker Star.

Profile[]

Physical description[]

A Goomba Wheel consists of several Goombas stacked on top of each other, not unlike Goomba Towers, but wrapped around to form a circle.

Behavior[]

A Goomba Wheel can rotate and move around like a wheel, hence its name. In Paper Mario: Sticker Star, a Goomba Wheel is somehow capable of creating wheel and motor sound effects.

In Paper Mario series[]

Paper Mario: Sticker Star[]

There is only one Goomba Wheel, made up of five Goombas, and Mario encounters it in Bouquet Gardens. During battle, the Goomba Wheel is fought in the form of five individual Goombas.

Paper Mario: Color Splash[]

Goomba Wheels return in the form of Small Goomba Wheels, which are found in Sacred Forest. They are Goomba Wheels, although shrunken from the effects of Kamek's magic, like with the entirety of Sacred Forest.

In Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam[]

Mario and Luigi first encounter a Goomba Wheel in Sunbeam Plains, just before they are joined Paper Mario. Unlike in Paper Mario: Sticker Star, this Goomba Wheel is made up of nine Goombas. Upon being encountered, the Goomba Wheel rolls after Mario and Luigi, and the player must repeatedly press A Button and B Button for the Mario Bros. to run away from it. Even then, Mario and Luigi cannot escape the Goomba Wheel, because even if it is outrun, the Goomba Wheel circles back around, makes its way through the Mario Bros., and defeats them. At this moment, Paper Mario is introduced as he comes down from the sky and defeats the Goomba Wheel, rescuing Mario and Luigi.

After Paper Mario joins the party, stacks of Paper Goombas occasionally transform into Goomba Wheels to attack Paper Mario, who can avoid them with his high jump. Goomba Wheels themselves are not standalone enemies during battle.
