The Gold Tires (Gold Wheels in Australia and Europe) are unlockable wheels in Mario Kart 7. They can be unlocked by getting 15,000 coins, or by getting a star rank on every Grand Prix Cup in each Engine Class.
Similar to the Slick wheels, the Gold Tires have some of the best speed, but lack off-road, having some of the worst. It also has some of the worst handling in the game, being tied with the Slick, Monster, and Red Monster.
