The Gold Gearmo is a specific Gearmo who appears in Super Mario Galaxy 2. He is located in Boulder Bowl Galaxy, on the Boulder Bowl Planet, during the hidden mission C'mere, Goomba. As suggested by the title, Gold Gearmo wants to capture a Goomba, and Mario must help him acquire one. In doing so, Mario receives a Power Star from the Gold Gearmo, and it goes aboard Starship Mario.
The Space Storm Galaxy has a similar character named the Silver Gearmo. Like the Gold Gearmo, it appears on Starship Mario after Mario has completed its mission.

- When the Gold Gearmo acquires a Goomba, he holds it up in the air in a similar fashion to Link from The Legend of Zelda series whenever he obtains an item.
