Gold Diamonds are an item in Luigi's Mansion and its Nintendo 3DS version.
Description[]
A Gold Diamond is worth 20,000,000G, a higher value than any other treasure in Luigi's Mansion. Gold Diamonds are about twice as large as Blue Diamonds and Red Diamonds.
In Luigi's Mansion[]
There are only two Gold Diamonds. To obtain the first one, Luigi has to water a plant three times in the Boneyard, once before defeating Bogmire, a second time after defeating Bogmire, and a third and final time after defeating Boolossus. If done correctly, the plant, which has grown into a flower, blooms, revealing the Gold Diamond and several other treasures. The second Gold Diamond is dropped by the fiftieth and final Boo after Luigi captures it into his Poltergust 3000.
Trivia[]
- If Luigi captures the final Boo and the player saves their game progress, the second Gold Diamond is not included in the save, as it occurs before the Gold Diamond is properly obtained. As such, Luigi has to go to a Toad after obtaining the Gold Diamond to save his progress again, because if either the player turns off the game or receives a Game Over, the Gold Diamond becomes permanently lost.
