The Gobblick is a boss from Mario & Luigi: Brothership. It is a high-ranking member of Zokket's army.
Description[]
The Gobblick is a massive green pitcher plant-like monster with an upper jaw resembling a venus flytrap, vine-like tentacles as limbs, yellow eyes, and a pink tongue. At low health, he gets a reddish-orange tint near the bottom.
Combat[]
The Gobblick is known to have two attacks. In one, he spits out Capnaps, Coins, and Spikelies, which must be jumped over (barring the coins which can be collected). The monster can also use his tentacles to constrict Mario and Luigi, who must use Hammer strikes to smash these tentacles. In a third attack, one tentacle burrows out, and three more jut out, one a bit closer, another even closer to the target, and the third having to be smashed with a hammer strike.
Occasionally, the fans in the background will be turned on. If Luigi performs his Luigi Logic, the Bros. can grab the Gobblick's tongue and throw him into the updrafts, stunning him.
When he runs low on health, the Gobblick becomes angry. This makes his attacks prior to this point even more dangerous on account of them being faster, and two more attacks are given to him. One of these involves the Gobblick advancing on a Bro. with drool coming out of his mouth and attempting to devour him. This is countered with a hammer strike immediately after a drop of his drool strikes the ground. If he catches the target, he recovers some health and will spit the target at the opposite Bro., who must jump over the Bro. that the Gobblick caught. In his second new attack, the Gobblick will swipe one of his arms across the ground to trip up the Bros. Upon performing this attack, more fans will open, allowing Luigi to perform his Luigi Logic again.
The Gobblick is a Level 12 monster with 900 hit points, an attack power of 43, a defense of 30, and a speed of 133, giving 750 experience upon defeat. His loot drop consists of 250 coins and the Gobblick Boots, which allows the wearer to heal 5% the damage they deal to an enemy with a jump attack.
A Glohm doppëlganger can be fought later in the game, with a Level of 35, 8200 hit points, an attack power of 190, a defense of 144, and a speed of 506. It has the same attacks, but performed more quickly, and the Capnaps launched by its spit attack are now infused with Glohm. Defeating this monster yields 3000 Experience with the loot drop consisting of 1100 coins and the Gold Medallion.
