Glide Ramps are an object in the Mario Kart series. They first appear in Mario Kart 7.

Description[]

Glide Ramps are a type of ramp that causes the character's kart to deploy its glider upon being used. Glide Ramps often appear before a long pit, as racers can only travel across certain ones by gliding. Their appearance is similar to a regular Boost Pad, albeit always blue and with white arrowheads perpendicular to the Glide Ramp's length (and parallel to the direction the player will be sent).

Courses with Glide Ramps[]

Mario Kart 7[]

  • Toad Circuit: One appears after the racers get through the first lap just before the racers cross the bridge. This can open up a shortcut, though landing on the bridge will cause the shortcut to be bungled.
  • Daisy Hills: Near the end, the racers will have to cross the river this way.
  • Mario Circuit: When the racers exit Peach's Castle, they will be sent into a gliding section over the gap.
  • Bowser Castle: There is one after the Starting Line that leads directly into the castle itself.
  • Rainbow Road: Partway through the second section of the course, the racers will encounter one that leads onto the rings of a Saturn-esque planet, which have been made into a single solid circular platform. They take another to get off. In the final section, after the racers go through the rotating tunnel, they can hit a Glide Ramp to reach some boost-inducing rings.
