When Giga Bowser is used, the player will be able to control Giga Bowser and use a variety of elemental attacks. Giga Bowser won't flinch from attacks but can still take damage. Giga Bowser is especially useful for small stages where he can get a lot of hits in. In Super Smash Bros. for 3DS/Wii U, Bowser takes a little longer time to transform into Giga Bowser and the transformation itself lasts shorter.
- Giga Bowser is based on the boss character from Super Smash Bros. Melee.
- Giga Bowser is one of three Final Smashes of the Mario series to be a transformation. The other two are Wario-Man and Super Dragon. However, Bowser Jr. joins in with the ability to become Shadow Mario in the latest installment.
- When used in Super Smash Bros. 3DS/Wii U, Bowser retains his original moves from Melee.
