Giant Ball 'n' Chains (also called Huge Ball 'n' Chains) are a larger variation of the Ball 'n' Chain appearing in New Super Mario Bros. U, New Super Luigi U, and New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe they have the same method of attack as a Ball 'n' Chain, swaying around however the only difference is a Giant Ball 'n' Chain is much larger and not as easy to avoid. They are also far more dangerous as if the heroes hit a Giant Ball 'n' Chain, not only do they take damage, they are also knocked back (which can cause them to fall down Bottomless pits) however if Nabbit makes contact with a Giant Ball 'n' Chain, he will merely be knocked back. Even the effects of a Starman cannot destroy a Ball 'n' Chain but it will make the heroes immune to them. Giant Ball 'n' Chains also have spikes on their chains making their chains just as hazardous requiring the heroes to duck underneath them. Giant Ball 'n' Chains can sometimes appear in rows attached to one block, they are only seen in Snake Block Tower, Stone-Snake Tower, Pendulum Castle and Impossible Pendulums.
