"This is Star Hill. Wishes, which were transformed at the Star Road, fall from here. But.... Some wishes that haven't been granted yet are falling because Smithy destroyed the Star Road. Frogfucius mentioned hearing about a Star Piece on this hill. Let's see if we can find it."
—Geno, in the beginning of Star Hill.

Profile [ ]
Powers and abilities [ ]
Geno is one of the more offensive party members in Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars . He has high regular attack and magic, and Geno is also the fastest party member, provided that none of the others have an equipped item that raises speed. However, Geno's Magic Defense tends to be quite low. Geno's spells include Geno Beam , Geno Boost , Geno Whirl , Geno Blast , and Geno Flash .

The Geno doll is brought to life
After Geno's homeland, the Star Road , was destroyed, Geno came down to Mushroom Earth to fix it and retrieve the Star Pieces .
During his visit to the Rose Town inn, Mario is asked by the inkeeper to play with her son Gaz. At one point, Gaz uses his newest doll Geno to activate a "Super Star Shot," and instead of hitting the Bowser Doll, the blast inadvertently hits Mario, knocking him out.
That night, while Mario is recuperating and sleeping at the inn, the Star Spirit, who would also come to be known as Geno, chose Gaz 's Geno doll as his earthly avatar, bringing the doll to life.
but he specifically asks Mario and Mallow to call him Geno, after the doll who was owned by Gaz.
Geno first introduces himself to Mario and Mallow by his real name, ♥♪!?, before asking that they name him Geno, after his doll form, because his real name is hard to pronounce.
In the morning, Gaz tells his mom and Mario that he saw a living Geno walk into the Forest Maze . Gaz's mother thought that he was lying, so she puts Gaz in timeout as punishment. However, Mario believes Gaz, and both Mario and Mallow enter the Forest Maze to find the living Geno doll. Here, Geno fights Bowyer to retrieve the Star Piece discovered by Bowyer's minions. Mario and Mallow decide to help Geno, and in their first battle together, the three characters manage to defeat Bowyer and acquire the Star Piece. Geno actually joins the group during the battle, being the only character to become a party member during a boss fight.
After Bowyer has been defeated, Geno reveals to Mario and Mallow that he is a warrior from Star Road who has taken the form of a doll on his quest to recover the Star Pieces, stating that they must be recovered as wishes cannot be granted otherwise. Geno first introduces himself by his real name, ♥♪!?, but because it is hard to pronounce, Geno asks Mario and Mallow to name him Geno, after the doll.
After the adventure is over, Geno leaves the doll's body to resume his star form, putting the doll back into its lifeless form. Geno bids farewell to his teammates and takes the Star Pieces back to the Star Road. In the ending credits parade, Mario and Princess Toadstool watch Geno ascend and leave Earth, and Geno causes the words "The End" to appear onscreen.
In Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga [ ]
Geno's cameo appearance in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga
Geno makes a cameo in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga as the host of the Star 'Stache Smash minigame. This cameo does not return in the remake Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions , possibly due to licensing issues, as Geno is owned by Square Enix but not Nintendo . The Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga end credits even list Geno as property of Square Enix.
Crossover appearances [ ]
A costume of Geno appears in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Super Smash Bros. for Wii U for the Mii Gunner. The costume later returns in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate , which also features Geno in the form of a Legendary spirit .
