"Game Show Host" is the forty-seventh live-action segment of The Super Mario Bros. Super Show!. It is paired with the animated episode "The Great Gold Coin Rush."
Plot[]
Mario and Luigi are watching a game show on TV when they decide they must get back to work fixing the furnace before the other tenants start to complain. Mario tosses in a couple of lumps of coal and Luigi attempts to light them. The furnace sneezes and hits Luigi over the head knocking him out cold. Mario manages to revive him but Luigi now believes himself to be a game show host.
Not knowing what to do, Mario calls in Jim Lange to help. Jim Lange is also baffled as to what he should do. He tries to simply tell Luigi the truth but Luigi incorporates this into his "show" and refuses to believe it to be true.
Mario informs Jim about how the incident started and Jim Lange gets the idea to tell Luigi the Super Duper Jackpot Furnace has burned out and must be relit. The furnace sneezes again and Luigi is revived by the second hit on the head. Unfortunately, Jim Lange has the group do a special good-bye, which results in Luigi hitting his head again and returning to game show host mode.
